Popularity of Blackheath Quarter drives new release of apartments at Kidbrooke Village

September 2013

Berkeley Homes has released a further collection of 85 high-specification one, two and three apartments in Blackheath Quarter at the award-winning Kidbrooke Village, presenting further opportunities to snap up a home in the much coveted scheme where strong sales have spurred the release of new homes.

The release of the Wallace Apartments at Blackheath Quarter follows the sell-out success of apartments previously released within the phase earlier this year. The success of sales is testament to the growing desirability of a Kidbrooke Village address, providing homes that are only 15 minutes from London Bridge, surrounded by 136 acres of parkland and benefiting from access to excellent on-site conveniences including a Sainsbury's Local, schools, healthcare centre, cafes and sporting facilities.

John Anderson, Chairman of Berkeley Homes (East Thames), comments: "Kidbrooke Village, which is one of the most exciting regeneration projects in London to date, is a completely new and vibrant London quarter, offering an outstanding choice of quality. We are constantly working to raise the bar of design and specification at the development, and the release of the luxurious Wallace Apartments next to the new Cator Park presents a new opportunity to call this contemporary scheme home."

Much like the apartments, the townhouses within Blackheath Quarter have also seen remarkable interest from local buyers, looking for secure, spacious homes that are designed with modern families in mind. Of the original collection, only three townhouses remain. The spacious townhouses make clever use of a multi-storey layout to enhance flow throughout the home, as well as space and light. Additionally, these new townhouses provide families with the opportunity to choose a home that best fits their individual needs, offering a variety of layouts and specifications. Purchasers can select from plots that feature enclosed courtyards, a rooftop terrace, or a winter garden room, allowing residents to enjoy the natural surroundings all-year-round.

Residents of Blackheath Quarter will also enjoy a wealth of amenities and benefits exclusive to this phase. The Clubhouse includes a top end management suite with a 24-hour concierge, a private cinema room and a business suite, as well as a residents' only gym and bespoke swimming pool.

The four neighbourhoods that make up the established community of Kidbrooke Village, in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, are City Point, Meridian Gate, Blackheath Quarter and a quintessential Kidbrooke Village Centre, which will act as the focal point of the scheme and provide much of the retail space and community facilities. These four neighbourhoods are arranged around parkland, providing all Kidbrooke Village residents valuable opportunities to enjoy an outdoor lifestyle - a rare commodity in urban locations.

Blackheath Quarter takes its name from the neighbouring village of Blackheath, whose special character comes from its elegant Georgian streets, village shops, restaurants and sports clubs that include the oldest rugby and hockey clubs in the country. The charm of Blackheath Village is reflected in the exteriors and interiors that have been expertly crafted to create modern and contemporary residences. Landscaping is also a key feature of Blackheath Quarter, which will include wide, tree-lined avenues marking the routes through the residential areas and the connections to the community facilities. Green paths run between the buildings, featuring ponds and landscaped courtyards.

Kidbrooke Village benefits from superb transport links, offering easy access to the West End, City and Canary Wharf. Existing train services provide direct access to London Bridge in just 15 minutes, and onwards to Waterloo East and Charing Cross. The same line also offers direct links to Victoria, as well as the London Underground network and DLR.
